Advisor Impact Update: RBC Global Asset Management’s Global Volunteer Week

May 4, 2026

At Invest in Others, we believe that meaningful impact extends far beyond financial guidance; it lives in the ways advisors and firms show up for their communities. This May, we’re proud to recognize RBC Global Asset Management (RBC) for their generous support of our Advisor Impact Update series and their deep commitment to volunteerism through their annual Global Volunteer Week.

In June 2025, RBC brought together employees from across the globe for a shared purpose: to help communities prosper. Through a wide range of volunteer initiatives, employees dedicated their time, energy, and expertise to causes that matter, demonstrating the power of collective action and local engagement.

A Week of Global Impact, Local Action

RBC’s Global Volunteer Week is more than a moment; it’s a movement. Across 11 cities worldwide, employees participated in initiatives supporting 33 charities and contributed more than 1,300 volunteer hours, with over one in four employees taking part.

In the United States, teams made a tangible difference in their local communities:

  • Boston employees led environmental cleanups along the Charles River and Boston Harbor, helping protect vital ecosystems.

  • Chicago, Minneapolis, Boston, and Stamford teams assembled MATTERbox care packages, providing essential supplies, from hospital kits to food, for those in need.

  • Minneapolis volunteers partnered with Simpson Housing Services to serve meals to individuals experiencing homelessness.

  • Stamford employees worked with Inspirica to revitalize a community center gym space.

Each of these efforts reflects a shared belief: when people come together to serve, communities become stronger, healthier, and more resilient.

Why Volunteerism Matters

Volunteerism plays a critical role in strengthening communities. It fills gaps where resources are limited, supports vulnerable populations, and fosters a sense of connection and shared responsibility. For financial advisors and firms, volunteering also offers a unique opportunity to build trust, deepen local relationships, and lead by example.

Advisors who volunteer aren’t just giving back; they are investing in the long-term wellbeing of the communities they serve. Their impact goes beyond financial outcomes, helping create environments where individuals and families can thrive.

Purpose-Driven Impact

RBC’s broader mission reinforces this commitment. Their purpose, to help clients thrive and communities prosper, guides not only their business practices but also their community engagement efforts. Through initiatives like Global Volunteer Week, RBC empowers employees to turn that purpose into action, supporting causes that align with local needs while contributing to global progress.

Looking Ahead

We are grateful to RBC Global Asset Management (U.S.) Inc. for their generous support of this content series and for setting a powerful example of what it means to lead with purpose.

Throughout the month of May, we’ll be sharing more inspiring stories that highlight RBC’s impact and the many ways financial advisors, including those who are our grant and award “alumni,” are making a difference in their communities.

Because when advisors give back, the impact is felt far beyond the numbers; it’s felt in stronger communities, brighter futures, and lives changed for the better.
