Creating Opportunity, One Athlete at a Time

September 4, 2026

“Rather than waiting for a change, I felt a responsibility to help create it.”

Layne Bruner, Harbor Investment Advisors

We’re pleased to recognize Layne Bruner, of Harbor Investment Advisors, in Aberdeen, WA, as an Emerging Impact Award finalist for the 2026 Invest in Others Awards. Bruner co-founded Multi-Sport 360 in Montesano, WA, to give back to the Grays Harbor community that provided him opportunities as a young athlete. What began as a single idea has grown into a structured, year-round environment where athletes develop not only their skills, but also the discipline, accountability, and confidence that serve them beyond athletics.

Bruner and his father, Mike, started Multi-Sport 360 in 2022 to address a need they saw among athletes held back not by ability, but by financial barriers and limited access to resources. The organization now serves more than 350 young athletes annually, driven by a commitment to ensure they have the opportunity to develop, grow, and succeed both on and off the field. Bruner dedicates 15-20 hours per week to coaching and mentoring, in addition to managing operations and fundraising.

“Beyond athletics, we provide a structured environment that promotes leadership, accountability, and personal growth, strengthening both the individuals we serve and the broader community,” said Bruner.

Bruner’s proudest achievement with Multi-Sport 360 has been transforming not just a physical space, but also the lives of the athletes within it. He took a vacant bowling alley and converted it into a 6,000 square foot indoor training facility that now serves as a year-round hub for development in the Grays Harbor community. Bruner has personally contributed more than $30,000 to Multi-Sport 360, and he redirects his coaching stipend each year to cover player fees for athletes facing financial hardship.

“Every athlete who walks through those doors has a relationship with Layne,” said Mike Bruner, Vice President of Multi-Sport 360. “From 10-year-old players to college athletes, he knows them, invests in them, and makes them feel seem. This is not occasional involvement. It is daily, intentional engagement.”

As an Emerging Impact Award finalist, Multi-Sport 360 will receive a $25,000 grant from Invest in Others to help extend their impact even further.  We can’t wait to celebrate Bruner’s story at this year’s Invest in Others Awards Gala.
