Building Stronger Futures: How Emerging Financial Services Professional Dominick Spaulding Is Supporting Youth Development Through AthletiCare

October 20, 2026

Through his support of AthletiCare Inc., Northwestern Mutual financial representative Dominick Spaulding is helping young people across Connecticut build confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover pathways to brighter futures.

For Dominick Spaulding, a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual and aspiring financial advisor, building a successful career in financial services goes hand in hand with making a meaningful difference in his community.

Through his involvement with AthletiCare Inc., Dominick is helping create opportunities for young people to develop the confidence, resilience, leadership skills, and support systems they need to thrive. His commitment to youth development reflects a belief that investing in the next generation means providing more than financial resources. It means investing time, mentorship, and opportunities that can shape brighter futures.

Dominick represents the next generation of financial services professionals who are embracing charitable engagement early in their careers, demonstrating that making a difference in their communities doesn’t have to wait until they’ve established themselves professionally.

Serving youth throughout Greater Hartford and surrounding communities, AthletiCare brings together physical wellness, mental health education, leadership development, and career exploration to help young people build the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

For Dominick, supporting this work reflects a commitment to creating opportunities that can shape lives well beyond childhood.

Developing the Whole Person

AthletiCare’s approach recognizes that young people need more than academic support or athletic opportunities alone. They need the tools to navigate challenges, build meaningful relationships, develop healthy habits, and envision a future filled with possibility.

Through its Building YOU framework, AthletiCare helps participants identify their individual strengths, establish meaningful goals, and connect those aspirations to educational and career pathways.

Its programming integrates strength and conditioning, mental health and wellness education, conflict resolution, leadership development, life skills, and career readiness. Together, these experiences create an environment where young people can grow physically, emotionally, and professionally.

The organization’s mission is rooted in a simple principle: every child deserves access to opportunities that build character, resilience, and long-term success, regardless of their background or financial circumstances.

Since its founding, AthletiCare reports having positively impacted more than 700 young people through its programs, community partnerships, and youth development initiatives.

Expanding Opportunity Across Connecticut

As AthletiCare looks toward its next chapter, expanding access to its programs remains a priority. The organization aims to reach approximately 300 to 500 youth and family members through additional programming, including after-school activities, workshops, school partnerships, community events, and wellness initiatives.

AthletiCare looks to invest in educational curricula, mental health workshops, strength and conditioning equipment, transportation assistance, staffing, and program materials. These resources are especially important for reducing financial barriers that can prevent young people from participating in enriching programs.

The organization also hopes to strengthen its partnerships with schools, municipalities, and community organizations, building a more sustainable network of support for young people and their families.

Beyond participation numbers, AthletiCare is focused on meaningful outcomes: stronger emotional resilience, improved conflict resolution skills, greater school engagement, healthier habits, increased confidence, and expanded awareness of educational and career opportunities.

By addressing these interconnected needs, the organization is investing not only in individual participants but also in the long-term well-being of the communities they call home.

Financial Advisors Making a Difference Beyond Their Profession

Dominick’s support of AthletiCare reflects the important role financial advisors and those pursuing the profession can play in strengthening the communities where they live and work. While advisors help individuals and families plan for their financial futures, many extend that commitment through charitable engagement, volunteerism, and support for causes that create opportunities for others.

For Dominick, AthletiCare’s mission aligns with the belief that mentorship, structure, and access to opportunity can transform young lives.

Celebrating Community Impact

We learned about Dominick’s story through a recent industry collaboration. In 2026, Invest in Others partnered with the Association of African American Financial Advisors (Quad-A) to introduce a new grant opportunity recognizing the charitable commitments of Quad-A members and the nonprofit organizations they support.

The inaugural initiative awarded a $5,000 grant to a nonprofit championed by a Quad-A member, reinforcing the shared commitment of both organizations to community service, charitable leadership, and meaningful local impact.

The first-ever recipient, Lashundra Strother-Wiley, was recognized for her work supporting the American Care Foundation and its efforts to create opportunities for the next generation.

Through this collaboration, Invest in Others and Quad-A are shining a light on financial advisors who are using their time, talents, and professional networks to support organizations making a difference.

Investing in Potential, Inspiring Lasting Change

For AthletiCare, the ultimate measure of success is not simply how many young people participate in its programs, but how those experiences influence their lives. A young person who discovers confidence through physical activity may carry that confidence into the classroom. A student who develops leadership skills may become a mentor to others. Exposure to career pathways may help a participant envision opportunities they had never previously considered. These are the kinds of lasting outcomes AthletiCare is working to make possible.

Through his support of the organization, Dominick Spaulding is helping bring attention to a mission focused on giving young people the tools, encouragement, and opportunities to build stronger futures. It’s a powerful reminder that investing in the next generation can create a ripple effect, strengthening individuals, families, and entire communities.

Invest in Others is proud to celebrate financial advisors, and those pursuing the profession like Dominick Spaulding, who are making a difference through charitable engagement and community leadership.
